Should I ask the ebay seller to recoup cost for item sold?

I bought some Bose Headphones that were listed and marked as used with virtually no description and 2 pics that showed two medium resolution exterior pics. I received the item yesterday to find out a quarter of one of the earpads skin has peeled off, and also a one inch scuff mark on the outside. He admitted to this and said it was normal, should I ask him to recoup the cost for the replacement pad?
