Paint issue; what should i do?

I'm moving out of my apartment soon and I noticed i had scuff marks here and there on the wall. I tried to wipe them off but they were pretty stubborn so instead i decided to paint over them. i got the paint matched and painted over them but the paint dried darker than expected. should i go back and get the paint tinted lighter at the hardware store? I really don't want to lose my safety deposit on the apartment
