Maintenance people who leave messes??!!?

I have been putting up with this for far too long. When something in our apartment needs fixed I have to literally put away all my area rugs because the maintenance walks all over everything in their dirty shoes. Then I have to clean up their mess after they have left. I have scrubbed up numerous scuff marks, picked up nails and screws, wiped up sticky gunk off floors and walls, I have to vacuum dirt up after they leave, they have damaged the linoleum floor in our kitchen, one guy put a hole in our drywall and never offered to fix it!!! Now, I know the apt isn't my property but we do live there, pay rent, and we have to look at it everyday. I do my part! I take really good care of it and keep it really clean! What should I do about this? I feel like they won't do anything if I report it! How would you feel?
