Jeans stains on a wall?

I was lying on my bed, using my laptop in my new jeans. Now I notice loads of blue stains/scuffs on the wall I was leaning against. How can I get these off without damaging the paint? I am in the UK, btw. I would prefer answers that don't involve using specific branded things.
