Is it cheaper to build your own guitar (other questions included)?

I was wondering if it would be cheaper to just buy a jackson warrior body (hopefully with some scuffs and scrapes on it),buy a neck off a broken one, slap some emgs on it and some strings? would this be cheaper then buying a used complete one? answers? thoughts?
