Ipod question about it working?

so i got an iPod for Christmas and it has been working great up until today. when i was getting out of a van i accidentally dropped it and nothing happened to it other than a scuff. but now it wont turn on. the weird thing is tho ive dropped ipods a lot harder before and they worked fine after the drop so it doesnt make sense. i even tried restarting it but that didnt work either :S :(
