How to remove light scuff marks on a dark tile?

I live in a dorm where they charge you for scuffing up the floor and inevitably dragging my wooden desk chair across the floor has left a mark. I've found many solutions online for how to remove dark black marks from tile floors, but nothing about the light ones on dark tiles. Does anyone know if some of the solutions overlap? I don't want to go make it worse!
